1. Acceptance and scope
By creating an account, using the service, publishing content, or making a purchase, you agree to these terms. If mandatory consumer-protection law gives you stronger rights, those rights prevail over any conflicting part of these terms.
2. Account and access
Provide accurate account information and keep your sign-in details secure. You are responsible for activity on your account unless it resulted from a security failure on our side. You may sign in with email, Google, or Apple; the information supplied by that provider is used to create or access your Semesty account.
You must be legally able to enter into these terms or have the permission required by the law that applies to you.
3. Learning content and AI
Semesty is intended for self-study and skills development. It does not provide an accredited diploma, official certification, professional advice, or a guarantee of a particular result.
AI-generated explanations, questions, summaries, and courses can be incomplete or wrong. Review important content before relying on it, teaching it, publishing it, or using it for an assessment.
4. Uploaded content and intellectual-property rights
You retain the rights you have in content you upload or create.
By uploading source material to Semesty, you represent and warrant that you have the rights, licences, permissions, or other lawful basis necessary to upload that material and allow Semesty and its service providers to process it for the features you request.
You must not upload or publish material where doing so would infringe copyright, database rights, confidentiality obligations, contractual restrictions, or other third-party rights.
Access to material through a school, university, employer, learning platform, textbook, course portal, or similar source does not by itself mean that you have permission to upload, reproduce, distribute, or publish that material through Semesty.
You are responsible for the material you choose to upload and for deciding whether you are permitted to use it with Semesty.
Semesty does not claim ownership of your uploaded source material. You grant Semesty only the limited, non-exclusive rights necessary to temporarily process that material and provide the requested service.
For content you choose to publish, that limited permission also includes hosting, displaying, and delivering it to the audience you select. Public courses and lessons may be visible to other users. We may remove or restrict content for safety, copyright, quality, or legal reasons.
5. Copyright complaints
Semesty respects intellectual-property rights.
If you believe that content available through Semesty infringes your copyright or other intellectual-property rights, contact [email protected] and provide enough information for us to identify the relevant content and understand the basis of your claim.
Where appropriate, we may restrict access to, unpublish, or remove disputed content while we investigate the report.
We may ask the user who published the content to provide information showing that they have permission or another lawful basis to make the content available.
We may restrict or terminate accounts that repeatedly or seriously infringe third-party intellectual-property rights.
Nothing in these terms limits any rights or remedies that cannot legally be excluded.
6. Acceptable use and reports
Do not use Semesty for unlawful, abusive, fraudulent, hateful, violent, defamatory, misleading, or infringing activity. Do not upload malware, bypass security or limits, scrape the service, or upload confidential or personal data without the required rights and permission.
You can report a course for inappropriate content, copyright concerns, or misinformation. We may review reports and take proportionate action, including limiting, removing, or unpublishing content or accounts.
7. Subscriptions, purchases, and credits
Prices and available packages are shown at checkout. Apple, Google, RevenueCat, Stripe, or another payment provider may process the transaction, and their applicable purchase, billing, cancellation, and refund rules also apply. Store subscriptions must generally be managed through the store where they were purchased.
Generation credits are limited access to a Semesty feature. They are not money, cannot be transferred, and cannot be exchanged for cash except where mandatory law requires otherwise. If a generation fails, Semesty may restore the credit based on the technical job status.
8. Personal data
Our Privacy Policy explains what personal data we process, why we process it, which providers help us, how long we keep it, and how you can exercise your rights. Do not upload another person's personal data unless you have a lawful basis and the required permission.
9. Availability and termination
We work to keep Semesty secure and available, but maintenance, outages, third-party services, or events outside our control can interrupt it. We may change or discontinue features for security, legal, technical, or product reasons.
You can delete your account from account settings. We may suspend or terminate access for serious or repeated misuse, fraud, security risks, payment problems, or legal obligations. Data may be retained where required for law, accounting, disputes, fraud prevention, or evidence.
10. Contact and governing law
For product, account, billing, privacy, or content questions, contact [email protected]. Belgian law applies, without limiting mandatory consumer rights in the country where you live.
